Artist's Comments

I decided to get back into making Jewelry awhile ago (took classes in Collage and high school) and this was the first pice I did but there will be more for sure.

the design was made by the amazing :iconmoonlightspectre: of a pice she wanted but couldn't fine called "Got Jewelry" ( [link] ) and she was nice enough to let me use her design.

I hope you like it Moonlightspectre if you ever see this.

since this was only a Practice it was only made of 18 gage bronze and a 10 mm round lapis. its just a little over 4 cm wide with was biger then she wanted but was better for me to get the details.

its a little hard to see here but some os the features are raised which gives it a better over all feeling in real life.

I have to say t was fun.

This is a wonderful piece, how long did it take you to complete? The details would have been very hard but it looks lovely.

Oh wow it rocks!! :wow: the stone is quite different from what I imagined but it's really cool, great work! Did you make it in a workshop or do you have the appropriate tools at home? I have always wondered how such a thing can be put together >w>
:icondex-drako:
thank you very much.

I would all together took something like 36 hours or so of total work spread over a few days. honestly it when far faster tehn I first thought it would or maybe I was just having enough fun that I didn't notice. lol

thank you and I'm glad you like it.

well I had most of the tools at home between the classes I took at school so I havve sey up a small workshop at home. they can be a little costly for what they are tho, but that comes with being specialty tools saddly. after that it's not that much harder to make this kind of Jewelry then soldered silver wire jewelry really. you take a sheet of metal, cut out the shapes you wanted and solder them together. the hardest part is making the bezel for the jewel. they do sell them per-made but I like making my own anyway I. (I feel it fits the stone better.)

the reason I used the lapes because no one I could get my stones from at that time had any blue/green quartz in the sizes I needed at the time. tho the lapis does work, better in real life because its has flexs of gold in it that don't show up well in the pictrue. its was between this or jade but the lapis was a litlle cheeper so I went with that because it was just a testing the waters again if you will.

I could send you the link to some online stores and some names to books on jewelry making?

It's always the best when you're having fun, well I'm glad you made this lovely peice and keep up the awesome work!
:iconmoonlightspectre:
Ooh well I wonder how much would that cost :D
:icondex-drako:
a bronze one would run youaround 25 dollars us I would have to check the market price on Sterling silver but about 50 Dollars would be the max you would have to pay for that. gold is going to run you a lot more, something closer to 700 to 1000 Dollars( not making that up when I last look at gold prices gave me a heart attack).

I didn't mean ot make that seem like I was trying to get money off you, I just thought. all I would ask from you would be cost Materials and maybe the shiping cost to get it to you. and I will show you link to all of the sites I by from so you know I'm wouldn't be ripping you off.

sorry if I seemed pushly
